Reed has had two soccer practices now and each one has been a struggle at the end. He decides he's tired and bored or whatever. I have to entice him with suckers or threaten him that he won't be able to come back next week, so that he'll finish the practice. They scrimmaged for the first time yesterday and that was a RIOT! It's killing Will not to get out on the field and dominate and tell everybody what to do. He escaped from me and managed to sit down with the team while Coach was teaching. They started to divide into teams and Coach points to Will, "How old are you?" and Will stands up and starts yapping back at him. Coach says "Because you earned it, you go play with that team!" TOO FUNNY
Ned's schedule is switching up this week. He'll be THE McCall policeman working Sun Mon Tues Wed with Thur Fri Sat off. He has to move to swing shift because he was on days this rotation. McCall only has one officer on duty most of the time and sometimes, they're all in bed asleep and one is on call, in bed asleep. Gotta love a small town eh? He is the senior patrol officer after being employed only a little over a year. Quite a bit of turnover.
I'm enjoying the fall weather. It's absolutely my favorite time of year. Just packed up the boys summer clothes and excited for sweaters and jeans. I'm going to start Reed's home schooling so he doesn't go CRAZY this winter. I'm debating whether to start piano as well but don't want to overwhelm him (soccer, school, music) We've almost finished our fence with many parts of it under protest from me. I wanted certain parts taller and certain parts closer to the ground etc etc etc. It will be so fun for the boys to play outside without Mom watching them like a hawk worried about the road and strangers and wildlife and stray dogs and tools turned into weapons (with my boys~the cops kids~everything is a handcuff or a taser gun or whatever) and all the silly things Moms worry about.
I've started training dogs again. It's like being a doctor, when people hear I'm a trainer they want to grill you on their pet's little "problems". I LOVE talking about dogs and it's funny the things people let their dogs get away with.
We're enjoying life and there is always something to do around here, so LIFE IS GOOD!span>

Hey I've seen those steps before! And I am so glad you have a blog! I hope Reid soon learns to endure to the end of practice, and that you are able to find something fun for Will to do that helps him feel involved. I miss those kids already!
We're doing well, but missing our McCall friends and everything.
I like your quotes on leadership--good stuff.
Love ya,
Jes
