Halloween story

Thank you Travis for taking the photos! Thank you my dear Candice for the disk/computer/time/friendship. I adore you!

We did store costumes this year because the price couldn't be beat.  Will was SO excited about his costume and not once scared about Reed's costume or makeup.  All night long he stuffed candy in his mouth and stuck real close at the church carnival.

There was a protestor that Ned said shows up every year.  He was standing in front of the Hotel McCall with a sign that said "Why are churchs supporting Halloween?"  He got a citation this year for something like not getting permission, too close to a business or some kind of loophole the cops can work.  Kinda interesting and did make me think of the "point" of the holiday.  I came to the conclusion that I like it because it's fun to play dress up, who doesn't LOVE free candy, spend time with friends, fun to play with the kids.  I'll keep participating in Halloween but I'll still boycott "trunk-or-treat"

My boycott of "trunk-or-treat" are because of the following reasons
  • It's boring going from trunk to trunk rather than knocking doors
  • There is too much candy passed
  • Makes it harder to enjoy the other costumes because nobody comes to my door.  I love to ooh and aahh at all the little goblins, ghosts and witches that ring the doorbell before handing over candy
  • I fondly remember going door to door begging for treats and I want to enjoy that with my kids

YES! Thank you Nichole! I couldn't agree more! I was highly disappointed in our ward here doing trunk-or-treat IN THE GYM that we didn't go:) Going door to door is much more fun.
